PRINCIPAL’S REPORT – Mr. Carey

1. Valentine’s Day will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2004.
2. Mr. Carey commended Mr. McConnico for his tremendous efforts coordinating the more than 40 sports teams here at St. Anthony’s. Spring sports, including Track and Socco, are set to begin soon.
3. Next week is the Religious Education Congress. Teachers must have 10 hours of religious education each year. Monday is a holiday and there will be no school on Thursday and Friday.
4. Mr. Carey thanked the PTO for sponsoring the annual Reading Night. It was a big hit with the children that attended.
5. First Reconciliation is tomorrow night, February 12.
6. Staff is reviewing our language arts curriculum and materials and looking at what is available.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Rollie Cochran

The total available in the PTO account as of this date is $11,451.77

The Italian Dinner is this month. $20,000 of our annual commitment is still owed to the school.

GUEST SPEAKER – Mrs. Polacek gave a very informative and interesting presentation on the ITBS results. Our school did very well, especially since this was the first year for this new test.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Debbie Martin

1. Debbie introduced Rollie, who gave us a report on the preparations for the Italian Dinner on February 28th. The event will be well staffed. Someone will be at church for the next 2 weeks before and after Mass to sell tickets. There will be Italian music in the background but no live music. The ticket price was raised. Hopefully, there will be less competing events on that night.

2. Spring Auction – The theme this year will be a “Jungle Safari” and will be held at Lisa Bonadelle’s home as in the last few years. Pardini’s will cater the event. Silent auction chair and table chairs are still needed.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Anyone interested in running for the PTO Board for next year, is encouraged to let us know soon. A President Elect is especially needed for this year!

3. Our next meeting will be on March 11 and will be held in the computer lab. It will include power point presentations from our 7th Graders.

Mr. Carey led us in a closing prayer at 8:45
