Parent Student Handbook Contract Page
Dear
Parents,
In 1985, a very fortunate teacher was hired to teach the
sixth grade at St. Anthony's School. Twenty-one years later,
it is difficult for me to announce my resignation as principal
from St. Anthony's. It has been my highest privilege to serve
as principal and I have been blessed to serve your children
for the past twelve years in administration. I've learned
a lot during my tenure at St. Anthony's. I've learned from
our parents, the example of true love for their children.
I've learend from our teachers, the example of dedication
to provide a loving and caring learning environment, and I've
learned what true joy is by working alongside the most creative,
talented, and wonderful students in the world. I have decided
to accept an offer from CalStateTEACH, a teacher credential
program housed at California State University, Fresno. I will
serve as a faculty member and will supervise student teachers
as they complete their California teaching credential. I have
so much to be thankful for. I thank Msgr. John for his spiritual
support and for his courage to lead St. Anthony's into the
future. I thank Mr. Neumeier for his endless devotion to St.
Anthony's and for inviting me to teach at St. Anthony's twenty-one
years ago. I thank all of the parents and teachers for their
support and the students for their excellent behavior. I look
forward to the remainder of the school year and will cherish
each day I spend with your children.
For your information, our Superintendent, Mr. Richard Sexton
has established a principal search committee. The announcement
has gone to the National Catholic Education Association website,
State of California Superintendent's website, our diocesan
website, and it will soon appear in our diocesan church bulletins.
As soon as there is a decision we will let you know. I pray
that God will bless our wonderful St. Anthony's community.
Thank you for many years of happiness!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Shawn Carey, Principal
Diocese
of Fresno Office of Catholic Education

Educational Resources at SAS
- It is the goal of St. Anthony’s School to provide
an atmosphere where student’s success is the utmost
importance. Again this year, we have Mrs. Joan Kramer
(Reading Resource Teacher), Mrs. Michelle O’Rourke
(Language Arts Resource Teacher), Mrs. Gerry Wong
(Counselor) and Mrs. Kristen Thaxter (Speech
and Language Therapist). In addition to these resources, the
faculty has initiated again this year the Student
Success Team (also known as SST) for improving academic
achievement. The goal of this program is to help provide an
experience which will contribute to the success of all the
students. The SST will again collaborate and develop positive
strategies for the students of St. Anthony’s. SST will
be made up of grade level teachers and they will meet only
when it is in the best interest of the student. It will be
a safe and confidential environment to develop the necessary
tools for student success. Parents will be consulted prior
to any SST meeting involving their child. Mrs. Wong will also
work with the student and faculty to add additional educational
support. Please contact your child’s teacher or Mr.
Carey if you have any questions.
