I
am very excited to accept Msgr. John’s invitation to
assume the Principal’s role as we continue our Principal
search. This will be my ninth year as principal over the past
31 years at St. Anthony’s. I plan to continue the fine
education here and I look to strengthen areas that are in
need with your help and the work of the staff. I am blessed
to be here. I will take the lead role in the daily operation
of the school which will include teacher observation. Mr.
Tim McConnico will remain as Athletic Director and handle
student discipline. Mr. Carey and several teachers will assist
with internal areas of the school to include religion, curriculum,
staff development, Safe Environment, student activities and
electives.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Tom Neumeier
Principal
Educational Resources at SAS
- It is the goal of St. Anthony’s School to provide
an atmosphere where student’s success is the utmost
importance. Again this year, we have Mrs. Joan Kramer
(Reading Resource Teacher), Mrs. Michelle O’Rourke
(Language Arts Resource Teacher), Mrs. Gerry Wong
(Counselor) and Mrs. Kristen Thaxter (Speech
and Language Therapist). In addition to these resources, the
faculty has initiated again this year the Student
Success Team (also known as SST) for improving academic
achievement. The goal of this program is to help provide an
experience which will contribute to the success of all the
students. The SST will again collaborate and develop positive
strategies for the students of St. Anthony’s. SST will
be made up of grade level teachers and they will meet only
when it is in the best interest of the student. It will be
a safe and confidential environment to develop the necessary
tools for student success. Parents will be consulted prior
to any SST meeting involving their child. Mrs. Wong will also
work with the student and faculty to add additional educational
support. Please contact your child’s teacher or Mr.
Carey if you have any questions.
Getting to Know Mr. Neuemeir:
Background: I am the product of Catholic education from elementary school to SJM. I received my Bachelor's and Teaching credential from CSUF and my Administrative Credential from Fresno Pacific University. I have been here for 31 years and taught 6th, 7th and 8th grades here at St. Anthony's School in the areas of Social Studies, Religion and PE. This is my 9th year as Principal. I will also continue to oversee the finances of the Church and Community Center as well as the school. I feel that I am very blessed to be here.
Goals: My main goal is to teach and show by example, that we should treat each other as Jesus did. Following the golden rule, "Treat others as you would like to be treated," is something that I would hope that every student will take with them as they continue their path in life. I plan to continue the fine tradition and excellence of SAS as well as further develop the school writing program and math program. I am a firm believer in supporting our fundraisers and ask that we all support the hardworking group of parents that form our PTO. Their ideas and influences have helped us to become the fine school that we are. The School Advisory Board has been wonderful in having the vision to keep SAS on track to remain one of the finest Catholic Schools in the valley. The Scrip Program has also been one of my pet projects which I whole-heartedly support and encourage everyone to take an interest in.
Hobbies and Interests: I love to play golf (though my games are few and far between) and spend time with my family. I enoy going to movies, concerts, plays and to dinner. St. Anthony's is a way of life for me and it seems as though whatever I may be doing, this school is not far from my mind.
ITBS Results for St. Anthony's School:
The ITBS
for Grades K through 8 Testing Program is a voluntary, non
profit cooperative program for Grades K through 8 provided
as a service to the schools of Iowa by the College of Education
of The University of Iowa.
