The 10 Commandments

1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
3. Remember thou keep the Sabbath Day.
4. Honor thy Father and thy Mother

  6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
  7. Thou shalt not steal.

Students will be expected to recite from memory and know the meaning of the following prayers by the end of the school year:

v     Meal Blessing

v     Spontaneous Prayer

v     Hail Mary

v     Glory be to the Father

v     Act of Contrition

v     Morning Prayer

v     Evening Prayer

v     Rosary

v     Hail Holy Queen

v     Apostle’s Creed

 

Students will be expected to know the importance of the following Catholic teachings by the end of the school year:

 

v     Stations of the Crosses

v     Ten Commandments

v     Seven Sacraments

v     Apostles and Saints

v     Order of Mass/Mass Responses

v     Rite of Penance

v     Age appropriate Bible knowledge

 

Students will be expected to attend mass on the weekend and participate in a summary of this mass the following Monday, participate in class discussion and behave appropriately in church at all times.

 

Textbook:  Come Follow Me, Benzinger Publishers

                   The New American Bible will be provided in class.

 

It would be helpful if your child had his/her own student Bible at home.
